The permit for the Scott’s Mill project has been given to Scott’s Mill Hydropower, LLC, and a competing application was denied to Liberty University, Inc, because it was the second to be filed.
FERC said there was no obvious difference in the merits of the respective applications based on outline plans submitted, and that the call on the permit was based solely on timing of the respective applications.
