Located in Pereruela in the Spanish province of Zamora, the 37.6-hectare solar farm is being constructed by Gehrlicher Solar Espana and is expected to be completed in December 2011.

The facility will generate an estimated 15,000MWh of electricity a year, enough to power around 3,400 Spanish households annually, and avoid approximately 5,600 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually.

HSH Nordbank structured the long-term financing for the Zamora solar power project.

With the acquisition of this facility, the total capacity of solar farms owned and operated by KGAL’s investment funds now exceeds 200MW.
