The wind facility employs 19 Vestas V100-1.8MW wind turbines and is expected to generate clean energy enough to power 18,000 households.
NSTAR will purchase the clean energy generated by the project under a long-term power purchase agreement.
Maine-based contractor Reed & Reed led the construction process with the project expected to contribute about $100,000 annually to the state for the next 20 years along with $240,000 community benefit payments.
Commenting on the development First Wind CEO Paul Gaynor explained that the project is the company’s fifth operational project in the state.
"The Bull Hill Wind project will serve as a source of cost-competitive renewable energy and a boost to the local economy through tax revenues and ongoing operations," said Gaynor.
