The 48MW project will now have 16 3MW turbines in place of 27. The new turbines are said to be 30% more efficient than the previously planned ones.

The project will be located in Penobscot and Washington Counties and claims to have local support. It has been recommended by the Washington County Commissioners and the Sunrise County Economic Council (SCEC).
rs, environmental organizations and sportsman associations have pledged their support for the revised project.

Changes made to the original proposal include reconfiguration of turbine locations, placement of turbines further away from nearby lakes, and advanced radar-controlled aviation lighting.

First Wind Northeast Business Development vice president Matt Kearns said, "This is a $100 million project that would be located in rural Maine and has the potential to put nearly 100 Maine companies and hundreds of Mainers to work during the construction phase, with several permanent positions for the life of the project."
