When a renewable energy generator – such as a wind farm – produces electricity that is certified and sold into the wholesale electricity market, it also produces RECs. By contributing 20 RECs, FirstEnergy Solutions is providing an amount of wind power renewable attributes that is equal to the amount of power used by the arena during the game.
