During the summer, the company will commence initial ground work next to the existing water treatment plant and in August, process equipment installation will start.

Construction of the facility is expected to be completed in 2015 while the production volume is estimated to be approximately 9 million Nm3 biogas per year.

In addition to relieving the existing water treatment plant for the company in a tangible way, the new biogas plant will enable Fiskeby to increase self-sufficiency in energy, Fiskeby CEO Torbjörn Hansen.

The expanded treatment capacity will not only provide the potential for increased board production but will also reduce the company’s environmental impact.

Fiskeby project manager Kerstin Ekestubbe said that Dutch company Paques is the supplier of biogas plant.
