The company will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the 540MW power project.

This combined-cycle gas-fired plant will replace LCRA’s aging Thomas C. Ferguson power plant near Marble Falls in Texas and is expected to commence operation in 2014.

The replacement project has already received air permits from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Fluor said that the design for the plant incorporates new technology, including environmental controls.
