Under the MoU, Fluor will provide development support, preliminary engineering, procurement and construction services (EPC) for the transmission line.
The line runs from Oklahoma to Tennessee and is currently in the development and permitting stages.
Pike Electric Corporation has been appointed as the subcontractor to Fluor, under which it will provide initial permitting and development support services for the project.
Fluor and Pike will provide the full EPC services for the transmission line project, upon receiving all all permits, regulatory and financial approvals.
The Plains & Eastern Clean Line will will deliver 3,500MW of power from Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas to the southeastern United States.
Fluor’s Power Group president Dave Dunning said the company continues to play an important role in the renewables energy space.
"We are excited to assist Clean Line Energy with the development of this unique transmission line project" added Dunning.
Completion of the Plains & Eastern Clean Line transmission project is expected to generate an estimated $7bn of new renewable energy projects.
The project is expected to take several years to fully permit and begin commercial operations as early as 2017.
