The new EV charging station employs advanced direct current quick charging equipment powered by 480-volt high-power electric service.
Fort Collins noted that the Level 3/DC quick chargers only support vehicles equipped with the CHAdeMo standard.
Currently, the state has two charging sites, including Fort Collins Museum of Discovery that has Level 2 and Level 3 / DC quick charger, and Civic Center Parking Structure with Level 2 charging station.
Earlier in February 2013, Fort Collins formed a partnership with the Electrification Coalition, City of Loveland and Colorado State University to establish Drive Electric Northern Colorado.
