The new unit, which is a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle gas turbine facility, has a production capacity of 230MW electricity and 293MW heat.

Fortum said that the unit will increase the plant’s total power generation capacity to 702MW and its heat production capacity to 1,931MW.

The company will build two more units, each with an electricity production capacity of 225MW, for the Tyumen CHP-1 plant and these units are expected to be completed in 2014.
