Under the first contract, signed with UTE Africa Solar, Foster Wheeler will provide steam generating components for a single 50MWe train La Africana solar thermal plant, located in Fuente Palmera Cordoba.
The equipment, which is scheduled for delivery in the second-quarter of 2012, will be integrated into a concentrated parabolic trough thermal solar plant using molten salts to store the sun’s energy and provide additional hours of plant operation without sun radiation.
In addition, the company will also deliver site advisory services during the plant’s commissioning phase.
Under the second contract, received from UTE Termosolar Olivenza, the company will provide steam generating components for the 50MWe Olivenza solar thermal power plant, that consists of 2x25MWe trains.
The solar thermal plant utilizes concentrated parabolic trough technology with thermal oil as the heat transfer fluid.
Foster Wheeler is planning to deliver the equipment in the first-quarter of next year.
Foster Wheeler has received both the contracts through its Global Power Group unit.
