The Greene Turbine has been designed for use in river and ocean currents, with the ocean systems expected to generate 10MW of electricity per turbine. The Greene Turbine technology, which is patent pending, recently completed a successful demonstration of the technology in the Mississippi river.

Greene Turbine was recently a big winner in the Tennessee Technology Development Corporation’s Venture Showcase competition, walking away with two awards totaling $35,000. The awards were presented at the Tennessee NEXT Conference, held May 5-6 in Nashville. The conference featured 28 Tennessee companies vying for awards. Prizes were awarded by the TTDC’s Technology Maturation Fund program to help promising startups through early-stage development to attract investors or third-party licensing.

“We are delighted that other business people see the validity and value of this very promising technology and we look forward to implementing our full-scale commercialization plan,” said Geoff Greene, CEO of Greene Turbine. “With the help of Frazier, Barnes & Associates, our commercialization process is moving forward in a methodical and consistent approach. FBA has prepared a professional business plan with financials and provided the strategic direction to properly position us in the marketplace.”
