The first of the orders from an undisclosed client will require the company to provide engineering, procurement, construction services for a 50MW wind project being developed in the state of Gujarat.

Gamesa will install 25 units of its G97-2.0 MW turbines at the wind farm, which will begin its operations in September this year.

The second order is for a potential 30MW wind energy project in the state of Madhya Pradesh. This facility will be equipped with 15 Gamesa’s G97-2.0 MW Class S turbines, which will begin operating from the first quarter of this year.

The firm will be responsible for all the associated infrastructure requirements for the turbine installations and their operations for both the projects.

The third project has been awarded by an independent local operator and developer for another project in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Gamesa said.

Under this order, Gamesa will deliver 25 of its G97-2.0 MW Class S turbine models, totaling 50MW, for the project which is expected to be commissioned within the first quarter of this year.

Gamesa’s order intake has increased to more than 1,300MW in India in 2015, up 54% from 2014.

In December 2015, the firm had won a turnkey construction order from Tata Power to build the 100MW Nimbagallu wind farm in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Expected to be commissioned in May 2017, the wind farm will be equipped with 50 of Gamesa’s G97-2.0 MW class S turbines.
