Under the terms of the agreement, Gamesa is responsible to build the infrastructure needed to install and operate the facility, including a substation.

Gamesa will partner with the local Philippine consortium CASA for civil and electrical works for the wind farm, which is planned for completion during 2015.

The consortium comprises Cendaur, Ati Consulting, Santa Clara and Airnergy.

In addition to installing 27 G90-2.0MW turbines, Gamesa will provide the operations and maintenance (O&M) services on the Pililla wind farm, located on the Philippine island of Luzón, for five years.

The contract strengthens Gamesa’s presence in Asia, where it is already active as both technology provider, supplying and maintaining wind turbines, and wind farm developer in China, India, Japan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Taiwan and South Korea

The company had installed a total of 5,016MW of its turbines in Asia and is maintaining a further 1,900MW, as of March 2014.

The new turnkey task order, which reinforces Gamesa’s presence in the Philippines, marks the third contract signed by Gamesa, totaling 144MW in recent months.
