Gamesa will handle the development and construction of the wind farms along with the supply and installation of all the projects wind turbines, under the agreement.

The projects will be developed under the self-supply regime and under the framework of Open Season II, being spearheaded and coordinated by the Mexican Energy Regulatory Commission and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).

The projects will be developed in one of Mexico’s windiest regions, Oaxaca state, in the next three years, according to Gamesa.

Gamesa, which has installed around 1,000MW of wind power capacity in Mexico, also services close to 800MW in the country, under O&M agreements.
