A part of the state-owned China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group, China Guangdong Nuclear Wind Energy plans to employ the said turbines at a wind farm in Shandong Province.
Gamesa, pursuant to the agreement, will supply 58 wind turbines each with a 850kW capacity.
Construction of the wind farm is currently ongoing at the site and a connection to the grid is expected before the end of 2012.
The current contract totals Gamesa’s installations with the utility to 350MW in Shandong, Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces.
Gamesa began its alliance with Guangdong Nuclear in China over 3 years ago and the utility has since employed Gamesa 850kW and Gamesa 2.0MW wind turbines at various sites.
The company had installed over 3,000 turbines across 60 sites throughout the country since the year 2000 and now has a development pipeline of 3,000MW.
