The 9MW project, which is being developed by a joint venture between E.ON and Energy Power Resources, is situated close to the town of Halifax in West Yorkshire.
Gamesa will supply, install and commission nine of its G80-2MW turbines at the wind farm, which has been in operation since June 1993.
The facility currently features 23 turbines and Gamesa said the new units will generate twice as much power, 18MW, utilizing less than half the number turbines used earlier.
The repowering project is expected to start energy generation in 2016. It will supply enough energy to 12,000 homes in the UK and avoid 21,000 tonnes of GHG emissions per year.
The current turbines at the wind farm have been supplying renewable power for more than 18 years.
In 2008, E.ON submitted an application to Calderdale Council to re-power the wind farm. The council approved the project in November 2012.
A community benefit fund will be offered to support local community projects for the life time of the wind farm.
