The wind farm in the province of Izmir is the second wind farm being developed by the Turkish company.

Under the contract, Gamesa will supply, assemble oversight and commission nine G97-2.0MW wind turbines.

Gamesa will also operate and maintain the facility for two years, as part of the accord.

The G97-2.0MW turbines are the most versatile on the market, with five different rotors (G80-2.0MW, G87-2.0MW, G90-2.0MW, G97-2.0MW, G114-2.0MW y G114-2.5MW), tower heights ranging from 60m to 125m and environmental alternatives to enable installation at even the most complex sites, Gamesa claimed.

The wind turbines will be delivered early next year, while the facility is due to be commissioned during the second quarter of 2015.

The contract marks a milestone in Gamesa’s efforts to boot its local footprint, as the turbine towers will be manufactured by a Turkish supplier.

Gamesa has deployed 94MW of its turbines in Turkey since beginning of its operations in 2010.
