Under the contract, Gamesa will supply 95 units of G114-2.1 MW turbine model for the project.

The company will also be responsible for the installation and commissioning of the turbines at the wind farm in the state of Coahuila.

Gamesa will deliver the turbines during the first half of this year which will enter service by the end of this year.

Since 1999, Gamesa installed over 1,700MW in Mexico with a sizeable pipeline at various stages of development.

The company recently announced its plans to build a wind tower factory through Windar Renovables, the joint venture with the Daniel Alonso Group.

To be located in the state of Tamaulipas, the factory will have annual manufacturing capacity of 500MW.

The factory is expected to become operational by the end of this year.

Under a separate contract, Gamesa will supply 52MW of wind turbines to ScottishPower Renewables, Iberdrola’s UK subsidiary.

The company will install 35 G52-850KW turbines at the Hare Hill wind farm and 11 of its G90-2.0 MW turbines at the Glen App wind farm in Scotland.

The Hare Hill and Glen App wind farms will become operational in the second half of this year and in January 2017 respectively.
