Under the contract, Gamesa will supply 25 G87-2.0MW wind turbines to the Orosi wind project as well as associated infrastructure including an electricity substation, a high-tension line and the site’s connection to the power grid.

Additionally, the company will also be responsible for providing a five-year operation and maintenance services for the project.

Financed by the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the Dutch Development Bank (FMO) and the International Bank of Costa Rica (BICSA), the project is likely to become operational at the end of 2014 or early 2015.

The latest project is Gamesa’s third joint work with GME after the 116MW Cerro de Hula project in Honduras and the 44MW Eolo wind farm in Nicaragua.
