Wind turbine

The first contract with CGN Wind Energy, a subsidiary of China’s General Nuclear Power Group, covers 32 G97 2MW turbines that will be installed at the 64MW Yangchajie wind complex in Yunnan province.

Gamesa plans to deliver the turbines in January 2015 and the wind farm is anticipated to be commissioned in March next year.

The deal is the third between Gamesa and CGN in 2014 with contracts totalling 150MW signed earlier this year, of which 100MW was for the first phase of the Yangchajie wind farm.

The second contract with Everbright requires Gamesa to deliver 24 G97-2MW turbines that will be installed at Zhaojiasan wind farm in the province of Shanxi, western Peking.

Deliveries are slated in March 2015 and the wind farm is expected to be commissioned by May.

Zhaojiashan facility is the second wind project to be developed by Everbright. Gamesa was also contracted to deliver turbines for the company’s first wind farm, which is also located in Shanxi.

Gamesa CEO in China José Antonio Miranda said: "Signature of these agreements is tantamount to an endorsement from our Chinese customers which have once again chosen us as benchmark supplier for their projects."

Gamesa has to date secured wind turbine contracts for the supply of more than 350MW in China in 2014.

The company has installed more than 3,500MW of turbines China and presently services about 1,000MW.
