Although the operation resulted in oil recoveries, in the process the wellbore perforations through which the oil is produced have become clogged.
Currently, the remedial work is underway to unblock the holes.
During swabbing operations, the blockages occurred with small amounts of fine grained clay being produced with the oil plugging the perforations.
Oil testing at the well will be resumed once plugged perforations are cleared.
The company aims to conduct extended oil production testing program to collect Malolos Oil Field’s sufficient technical information to confirm its commerciality and justify the Department of Energy awarding a 25 year production period.
Validating the oil field’s commercial production will not only significantly impact the value of the company but will benefit the Philippine economy.
