The project, a part of a Build, Operate, Own and Transfer (BOOT) agreement with the state government for three hydropower projects, is said to be the first independent power project (IPP) for hydroelectric sector in the state.

Other two projects planned under the agreement are 54MW Bhasmey hydroelectric project that is under construction and 71MW Sada Mangder project.

Commenting on the developments, Gati founder and CEO Mahendra Agarwal stated that the commissioning of the hydropower project is a major milestone for the company.

"Being a logistics expert our success into the Power sector – a completely diverse industry – is a huge achievement. It was not easy at all. Team work and dedication has helped us surpass all odds right from the technical’s glitches to finances," added Agarwal.

Meanwhile, Chuzachen hydropower plant is connected to the Central Transmission Utility, a national grid, through a 24km dedicated transmission line to deliver power generated at the plant across the country.
