Mr Zavgorodnev will replace Vasily Zinoviev, who was elected as a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
In 1993 Mr Zavgorodnev graduated from the Grozny Petroleum Institute majoring in oil and gas fields development. He holds a PhD degree in geology and mineral resources.
From 1998 to 2006, Mr Zavgorodnev worked as the chief engineer of the Stavropol gas production directorate of Kavkaztransgaz. In 2006 he was appointed the director of the Stavropol line production directorate of main pipelines of Kavkaztransgaz. Since 2007 Mr Zavgorodnev has been acting director general, chief engineer – first deputy director general of Kavkaztransgaz.
