Mr Pankratov was quoted by the news source saying that a majority of the funds will be invested in energy transportation projects, with a maximum of 30% being allocated for production.

The Gazprom official noted that the company’s main focus area up until 2013, will be new projects related to the development of natural gas reserves on the continental shelf of the Yamal Peninsula in northwest Siberia, Russia.

Gazprom is reportedly planning to increase its annual gas output by 100 billion cubic meters by 2020 through its new projects, which are expected to constitute about 50% of the company’s gas production volumes at that time.
