The company will buy these facilities from BEB Speicher and ExxonMobil Gasspeicher Deutschland.

The transaction includes the gas storage facilities at Uelsen, Harsefeld, Schmidhausen, Lesum, Reitbrook and Breitbrunn, and these facilities include four depleted fields and two salt caverns.

GDF Suez said it will increase its share in the German gas storage market to 10% with this new acquisition.

Following this transaction, the company will have a total storage capacity of 12.5 billion cubic metres in Europe.
