GE Aeroderivative and Package Services has won a contract from Florida Power to exchange an LM6000 PA gas turbine for an LM6000 PC unit equipped with the company’s Sprint intercooling system. The operational unit is located at the University of Florida Cogeneration Facility in Gainesville, Florida. The new unit is expected to produce a 3-7 per cent reduction in heat rate, and a power performance increase of 10 per cent. The exchange will be carried out during an outage this summer.
