GE Wind Turbine

Featuring 2.85MW rated power and 103m rotor diameter, the wind turbines can produce high power output for constrained areas.

GE said that 100 2.85-103 wind turbines have the capacity to generate the equivalent power needs of approximately 200,000 average homes in Japan.

"We applaud Japan’s commitment to wind energy and are pleased to introduce GE’s 2.85-103 wind turbine, which is engineered specifically for Japan," said Anne McEntee, president and CEO of GE’s renewable energy business. "The turbine has the ability to withstand extreme weather events and turbulence conditions, making it an excellent fit for wind sites across Japan."

Japan has plans for reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 3.8% from 2005 to 2020.

The 2.85-103 for Japan includes the nation’s requirements for lightning protection across all the regions and complies with Japan Electric Utility Industry Law and its construction and building codes.
