Commissioning of the ground-mounted solar facility is scheduled for June of this year.

The solar power system is expected to produce about 33 million kWh of green electricity annually, enough to serve the needs of around 9,300 three-person households.

The solar park is owned by the two investment funds managed by KGAL GmbH & Co KG.

The western part of the facility was sold to InfraClass Energie 6, while the eastern part was acquired by the European Sustainable Power Fund 2 for institutional investors.

Gehrlicher Solar will develop about 62ha of the 87ha area with substructures, solar modules and inverters, and the remaining area will be used to create habitats for meadow-breeding birds.

Gehrlicher Solar said the plant will save about 32,000 tons of CO2 annually, when compared to energy generated from fossil fuels.
