The company is expected to develop the proposed solar plant in cooperation with Main Street Power, an owner and operator of solar assets, MS Solar Solutions, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Morgan Stanley, project developers Syncarpha Capital and Brightfields Development.

Gehrlicher Solar noted that the 3MW solar power project will feature approximately 10,560 solar panels and five inverters.

Commenting on the project, Gehrlicher Solar America New England Business Development director Lori Ribeiro said that the company is pleased to transform a landfill into an clean energy generation asset and productive financial holding for its owners.

"Massachusetts has 328 capped landfills across the state and as a leader in landfill to solar conversions, Gehrlicher looks forward to working with our partners on future conversions," added Ribeiro.

Currently, Gehrlicher Solar America has completed projects, totaling 16MW in Massachusetts, and has additional 62MW that are under construction and development stages.
