Recovered from the company’s Letšeng mine in Lesotho, the blue diamond has been encountered from the Main pipe while the white diamond was intersected from the Satellite pipe.

Gem Diamonds CEO Clifford Elphick said, "Letšeng continues to achieve such outstanding prices for its exceptional diamonds and we continue to expect recovery of such high quality diamonds as mining at Letšeng continues to focus more on the higher grade, higher value Satellite pipe towards the end of 2013 and into 2014."

The Letšeng mine, which is 70% owned by Gem Diamonds and remaining by the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho, involves production of large, top colour, exceptional white diamonds.
