K2’s battery systems are based on a lithium iron phosphate cathode material whose inherent safety and low cost makes them ideal for the large format systems required for electric vehicle and energy storage applications.

The prime contractor for the design and prototyping of Genovation’s G2 model, Tata Technologies, designed the car in anticipation of incorporating the K2 battery pack into the car.

The Dana Corp also designed the G2’s Thermal Management System to include the K2 battery pack as part of an integrated component.

K2 CEO Johnnie Stoker said that the company’s scientists and engineers have been involved in the development of lithium ion battery technologies over the last decade and Genovation’s choice of K2 as its supplier for its G2 model is further validation of the utility of K2’s proprietary technology in EV applications.

K2 is a lithium battery technology company focused on commercialization and manufacture of rechargeable battery systems for electric vehicles and energy storage.
