According to GeoSea, all the necessary regulatory approvals have been received for the acquisition, which was announced in July, this year.

A2SEA is a Danish company that specialises in offshore wind turbine installations. It has a workforce of about 160 employees and operates offshore installation vessels including ‘Sea Challenger’ and ‘Sea Installer’.

As per GeoSea, the operations of A2SEA are fit with its own operations and the combined company is expected to position itself to offer a broader range of integrated services and solutions for offshore wind energy projects.

A2SEA CEO Michael Glavind said: “We are very pleased to welcome our new owners, GeoSea. GeoSea is a well-known and highly respected contractor within offshore wind. To both companies, safety is of paramount importance, and furthermore, we take pride in delivering projects to the full satisfaction of our customers. We look forward to the co-operation drawing on the expertise from our new colleagues in GeoSea.”

GeoSea managing director Luc Vandenbulcke: “The activities of A2SEA represent a strong and complementary fit with the operations of GeoSea. While GeoSea is mainly specialised in foundation works and in the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the Balance of Plant for offshore wind farms, A2SEA is a pioneer in transporting and installing turbines.

“Many times GeoSea has worked on projects where A2SEA later on installed turbines. Our combined organisation will be well-positioned to provide a broader range of integrated services and solutions to renewable energy customers.”
