Germany Environment Minister Peter Altmaier, who commissioned the study, said that green technologies have lot of growth potential.

"We still have a leading position in clean technologies and we will do everything to defend that," Altmaier said.

The study also observed that the global market for clean technology would double to reach €4.4 trillion by 2025.
