The first 36MW unit at the 108MW Golen Gol project in Pakistan is now in operation, with the official inauguration ceremony having been held on 4 February.
Located in the Chitral district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the first unit will provide electricity to Chitral town and adjacent areas. The unit can provide three times more than the current electricity need, and will also cater for future energy demand.
The 2nd and 3rd 36MW units are expected to be commissioned in March and May 2018, bringing the project's total installed capacity to 108MW.
