KDC operates the Ellendale diamond mine and was acquired from Gem Diamonds for a total consideration of $3.25m.

Funds for the acquisition were raised from a combination of debt and equity, as well as repayment of an $11.2m deposit covering environmental bonds.

Following the transaction, KDC is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goodrich.

Situated across 123.9 km² area, the Ellendale mining lease is located approximately 120km east of Derby in the West Kimberly Region of Western Australia.

The mine contributes to approximately half of the global supply of rare fancy yellow diamonds.

Additionally, KDC also owns an 8.40% stake in Blina Minerals, a company with exploration ground adjacent to Ellendale.

Goodrich is looking to extend the life of the Ellendale mining operation and plans to undertake a full operational review of the mine, shortly.
The company is planning to update its business plan and strategy in March 2013.
