GSPC has confirmed that reserve assessment work for 2008 discoveries at Mehsana has already been concluded.
So far 17 wells have been drilled at CB-ONN-2002/3. In 2008 GSPC has received a one-year extension for completion of the drilling programme under the first phase.
The onshore block is spread over an area of 285 square kilometers and is divided into two parts, Part A (Sanand) 132 square kilometers and Part B (Miroli) 153 square kilometers. Of the total wells drilled, seven exploration wells comprising of the SE-2, SE-3, SE-4, SE-8 and SE-9, SE-10, SE-11, were drilled in Part-A of the block and seven exploration wells comprising of the M-1, M-4, M-2, M-5, M-6, M-3 and M-7, were drilled in Part-B.
Two wells consisting of the M-4 and M-2 have been discarded. Testing for hydrocarbon prospect recently culminated in two wells consisting of the M-7 and SE-8, while another well, M-3, has been identified for testing.
The consortium has made five discoveries comprising of M-1, M-6, SE-2, SE-4 and SE-8, till now in the block.
GSPC is the operator of the NELP-IV block, with a 60% majority participating interest with Jubilant holding a 30% stake, and GeoGlobal Resources Inc. is a 10% equity partner. The Cambay basin already comprises of a number of proven oil and gas zones.
