Reuters reports that power prices were up on the UK, Dutch and German markets, while Spain reached a demand pea of 40,370MW on July 17, a 4.5% increase on the peak seen last summer.
Reuters also reports that day-ahead baseload prices on the French spot market grew by some E22 per megawatt hour to E92.
The spot market has been strengthening in the past couple of weeks, Reuters quotes one Dutch trader as saying. The Netherlands is an importing country and when prices in Germany and France rise, the Dutch price also rises.
