The company has to secure a Development Consent Order for the exercise of the option to lease the site from Associated British Ports.

The power plant will need around 700,000 tonnes of sustainably sourced biomass feedstock per annum and is expected to contribute to the South East Plan objective of a 20% cut in carbon emissions by 2020.
