With the acquisition of additional shares, Hercules has invested a total of about $34.1m in Discovery Offshore and now holds a 28% ownership interest in the company.
Luxembourg-based Discovery Offshore is focused on ownership of ultra high-specification jackup rigs.
The company currently has two ultra high-specification jackup rigs under construction in Singapore and it also holds options for two additional jackup rigs.
Hercules oversees the construction, marketing and operations of rigs owned by Discovery Offshore, as well as performing other corporate administrative functions required by Discovery Offshore.
