Under the contract, awarded by Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Hitachi will supply 500kV GIS and its associated work while the local company will provide 230kV GIS.

The leading state-owned power utility under the Ministry of Energy, EGAT is responsible for electric power generation and transmission for the whole country as well as for bulk electric energy sales.

The team will also be responsible for civil engineering work, installation, and commissioning at the substations. Work under the contract is expected to be completed in 2016.
