The gas measurement technologies include ultrasonic flowmeters, which measure natural gas for custody transfer applications; and flow computers, which are capable of performing parallel calculations of compressibility based on all established methods such as GERG 88 S, AGA 8 and AGA NX 19.

HPS will also install SmartLine Temperature and Pressure transmitters that provide flexibility for post start-up modifications, and reduce maintenance and inventory costs while providing high accuracy and stability.

Being developed by Sinopec and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Guangxi LNG high-pressure pipeline will have an annual capacity of eight billion cubic meters.

The 1,300 mile-long LNG pipeline that runs from Maoming to Beihai would optimize China’s energy structure and cater to the demand for natural gas in Guangxi.

This is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

HPS Greater China vice-president Aldous Wong said:"Pipelines have challenges that are very different from processing plants since you have to manage an operation that is hundreds or sometimes thousands of miles long.

"Measurements such as flow and pressure must be accurate and immediately accessible to keep the pipeline operating most efficiently."
