Under the five-year deal, Honeywell will be responsible for maintenance, support and project delivery services, through the HPS Assurance 360 program to the New Zealand’s sole oil refinery, which is operated by Refining NZ.

In particular, HPS will provide complete lifecycle maintenance for the refinery’s control systems and migrate the refinery to HPS’ Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS), the latest process control technology.

HPS Australia and New Zealand Pacific sales director Neil Wold said: "Through the Assurance 360 program, Refining NZ no longer has to worry about maintaining and supporting their Honeywell control systems or making sure they are using the latest technology.

"These services transform how plant assets are managed, focusing on system performance and outcomes while allowing operators like Refining NZ to focus on operations."

Through the Assurance 360 program, launched in 2014, Honeywell performance experts also optimize system performance to support the long-term goals of organizations.

Refining NZ CEO Sjoerd Post said: "Strategic alliances are at the core of Refining NZ’s developing business, as we move from a self-supported operation to establishing a broad network of expert partnerships.

"We have partnered with Honeywell due to its significant expertise in control systems and have the upmost confidence that through this relationship, our operations will continue to meet global best practice standards."

Located in north of Auckland, the refinery is designed to produce refined petroleum products and transport fuels including gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel.
