The power plant is a self-innovated, designed, manufactured and constructed IGCC model project, which is a “Green Coal” Programme with self intellectual property rights and modern clean coal technology.
Huaneng’s IGCC model power facility located in Tianjin is a part of the 1st phase of “Green Coal” Programme, also known as key programme of national high-tech projects. The generation unit with a capacity of 250,000 Kilowatts (Kwh) is expected to commence operations by 2011.
The environmentally friendly coal-fired power station, with power generation efficiency and desulfurization efficiency would reach 48% and exceed 99% respectively, emits Nitrogen oxides that are 15%-20% of normal power station.
