The power plants include those which are connected to power grids in north, south, central, east, northeast and northwest parts of China.

The tariff adjustments apply to these power plants, effective July 1, 2008, and are expected to ensure power supply and promote energy savings, and also ease the production and trade difficulties being faced by the power industry.

According to the approved tariff adjustment plan, the average on-grid tariffs, including value-added tax and according to the weighted average generation planning of 2008, of Huaneng’s coal-fired power plants would be increased by RMB19.32 per MWh, which is approximately 5.16%. The increase took effect from July 1, 2008.
