Seismic contractor CGGVeritas will acquire 3D seismic data in an area covering about 4,000 sq km using the Oceanic Endeavour vessel.
Hyperdynamics said that the primary goal of this new survey is to investigate multiple possible deep water submarine fans in the equatorial Atlantic margin which were identified from a 2D seismic survey in 2009.
Hyperdynamics operates the Guinea concession with a 77% participating interest, while Dana Petroleum holds the remaining 23% interest.
