The power project employs 121 G52 Gamesa wind turbines each 44m high and a capacity of 850kW each.

The farm has been developed by Iberdrola’s construction and engineering subsidiary.

Power generated by the project will be sold to the Mexican state company, Mexican Federal Electricity Commission under a 20-year purchase agreement.

The project will supply energy to more than 110,000 households and prevents the emission of some 420,000 tonnes of CO2 every year.

Iberdrola already owns two other wind farms operating in Mexico: La Ventosa, with 80MW, and Bii Nee Stipa, with 26MW.
