The three projects- 189MW Manzana project, 48MW Groton farm and the 28.5MW Hoosac project were developed entailing an investment of $700m and were connected to respective grids in December 2012.

Iberdrola Renewables CEO and president Martín Mugíca remarked the projects provide various environmental benefits that are offshoots of producing clean and renewable energy.

"Each project represents the culmination of years of hard work, and we could not do it without the vision and support of our shareholders, customers and employees," added Mugíca.

GE supplied 126 turbines of 1.5MW each for the Manzana project in Kern County, California and 19 similar turbines for Hoosac project on Crum Hill in Monroe County, Massachusetts.

The Groton wind farm in New Hampshire employs 24 Gamesa wind turbines of 2MW each.

San Diego Gas & Electric and the Silicon Valley Power will procure the electricity generated at Manzana under long-term power purchase agreements.

Electricity generated at Hoosac and Groton projects will be supplied to NSTAR Electric, a subsidiary of Northeast Utilities, under long-term power purchase agreements.
