The facility, located in Mount Arachnaio in the Peloponeso peninsula, comprises 19 Gamesa wind turbines, each with a generating capacity of 2MW.

The wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to power over 20,000 homes annually, displacing the emission of 77,220 tonnes of CO2 a year.

Through this project, the company will earmark around EUR20,000 a year to Greece’s Green Fund, which is to be used to invest in projects designed to improve the nation’s environmental record.

With the new facility, Iberdrola Renovables has lifted its total wind power capacity to 255.3MW in Greece.
