To be built with an investment of around $150m, the project, which is the company’s third wind farm in New Hampshire, will generate enough electricity to power around 30,000 average homes.

The company has completed environmental assessment studies and surveys and now plans to file the proposal with the state regulators in the coming months seeking approval to proceed with the project.

The project will create around 300 construction jobs and five or six permanent jobs for operation as well as contribute an estimated amount of $1.6m annually to the local community, or more than $33m over 20 years, boosting the local economy.

Iberdrola has reached a 15-year power purchase agreement with a group of four Massachusetts utilities for the project and the agreement is subject to approval from the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities.
